Day 203 - Harrison's first birthday party

Everyone was very excited for the big day to finally be here, Harrison's first birthday party!

After a long morning of decorating and cake prep, Harrison was finally able to open some presents and enjoy some delicious cake.  All in all, the party was a big, messy success!

Harrison especially enjoyed the noise makers.

He chewed on it all afternoon, but just couldn't figure out how to get noise out of it.

So many presents... so many new toys... he was almost overwhelmed.

Very soon he got into the spirit of things.  (And loved trying to get into the boxes)

And then came happy birthday and trying to eat the flame on the candle.

He didn't quite know what to do with the cake.

It didn't take long for him to figure out what to do

Then things got a bit crazy

before finally coming down from the sugar high.  Just in time for a bath and nap!

Day 202 - Party prep

Very busy day today of birthday shopping and party preparations.  Apparently there is also a holiday coming up soon... so the stores were a little crazy to say the least!

By the end of the night some wine was definitely needed.  Some people needed a bit more than others :).  Big day tomorrow, Harrison's first birthday party!

Day 201 - Getting old

Harrison is getting so old that he already has to go in for his 1 year physical.  He was strangely excited for the big trip to the doctors office... guess it's not a bad thing.  Once in the doctors office he had to sit in only his diaper for quite a long time, thankfully he could wear his touque to keep warm!

Day 200 - Christmas Dancing

Harrison is especially fond of our tree topper, which sings Christmas carols any time someone walks by the tree.  He loves watching the lights flash, waving his arms and dancing just like mom!  Check out our little video of his fancy holiday dancing...

Day 199 - Three little angels

The three little angels got together to hang out today.  Aren't they cute!  After getting used to each other they had a great time hanging out while all the moms got to visit.  While cute, one of the angels might deserve a bit of coal in his stocking... guess who that is?

Grandma sent up a box of Christmas cookies, so tonight Harrison got to have cookies before bed... he absolutely loved them!  (We've maybe had a cookie or two as well :)

Day 198 - I told you he was teething!

There can be no doubt anymore. Cute little chicklets are popping out on the bottom and top of his gums. The evidence is everywhere.

Day 197 - A visit to the big guy!

We are surrounded by parents and kids anxiously waiting their turn. The air is filled with excitement and Harrison can't help but let out the occasional screech of joy. Now we are next in line but a small girl is unable to wait anymore and dives under the rope and hops right onto the jolly mans lap. When Harrison was finally able to meet Santa he proved to be just as excited. He was in awe of his big beard and laughed as mom jumped around like a nut behind the photographer. Cant wait to do it again next year!
