Day 150 - Too much driving!

Rather than show pictures of our long boring drive back to Wetaskiwin today we thought we would share pictures of one of our play dates yesterday.  Here is Harrison playing with Hudson, Randy and Tayla's son.  (See Owen, Harrison can play nice... we promise he will be much better behaved when we come see you in November :)

Day 149 - Mr. Sporty Spice

We had a long day of packing up winter clothes to bring to the mountains and visiting so Harrison got dressed up in his sporty outfit that now fits him so well... isn't he a bright young boy!

One picture with his tongue out for good measure.  (We blame both grandma's for this new habit of his :)

Day 148 - Home sweet home

Headed up highway 63 today for a short visit to Fort McMurray.  The city is as busy as always, both rentals are thankfully doing very well and all the basement renovations held up nicely.

It was so nice to make it home...  Harrison was especially excited to see some of his old stuffed animals (which seem much smaller now) and sleep in his crib.  He slept right through the night for the first time in months.  We even woke up before him... so good to be home!

Young Harrison cuddling with his favourite Walmart bear

Much older Harrison that loves to now wrestle with his favourite Walmart bear

Day 147 - Off to the ool

What is ool you ask?  The pool without any pee in it... Or at least we hoped so.

After another nice relaxing day in Wetaskiwin we made it out for a swim.  Grandma's underwater camera made for lots of fun.  If it wasn't for a 6 year old girl picking on Emily by spraying her in the face, everything would have been perfect... Oh well, every day can't be perfect :).

Day 146 - When stars align

Everyone got together at Kallie and Travis' place for a potluck.  For the first time ever all "the girls" and their others were able to get together.

It was a very nice night with lots to eat and drink.
The girls cackled, Harrison giggled and the boys just sat around scratching and watching sports...  good times had by all!

Day 145 - Reynolds Alberta Museum

Jiichan works at the Reynolds Alberta Museum.  Harrison couldn't wait to go visit him!
The museum did not disappoint, Harrison loved climbing in all the cars and tractors and tasting all the steering wheels.

After the museum we made it out to Pigeon Lake to try the Eco Cafe... well worth the drive.
To finish off the day we made it to Spencer, Paula and Fuzzy's for soup and a visit.  Busy day, but well worth it!

Day 144 - Daily grind, Wetaskiwin style

Much of the same today.  Very relaxing and real good company.
Wake up, feed, nap, feed, play, feed, bathe, sleep.

Harrison getting over his cold, so he's a little less snotty and a lot more happy!

Day 143 - Ping Pong anyone?

Beautiful day in Wetaskiwin today.

Made it to the new Manluk Centre to try out the lazy river.  Racing through the river didn't make it very lazy, but Harrison sure enjoyed it!  (Floating while being chased around the river)

Later in the night we headed out for a 22 course Japanese/Korean feast...  Harrison especially enjoyed the Miso soup, even though he thought it tasted like feet.

We had the final course of our meal back at the Takenaka house.  Most of us had ice cream... Harrison tried to eat a ping pong ball.

After we dislodged the ping pong ball from Harrison's mouth (by pressing gently on his cheeks :) we settled in for round two of Harrison vs. mom.  Harrison won again.

Finally, after all the excitement Harrison fell asleep in grandma's arms... another wonderful day on parental leave!

Day 142 - Stairs!

Now that Harrison is mobile (the crawl not the phone) he has a whole new perspective for every where we visit.  Everything is much more interesting now that he can touch (and taste) everything!

Although he can't walk yet, he sure does like heading up and down the stairs...
Nice and slow relaxing day around Wetaskiwin followed by date night :).

Day 141 - The bond between a mother and a child

Harrison loves his mom.

After the baby shower we headed North to Wetaskiwin to spend a week with Grandma and Grandpa Takenaka and Uncle Lucas.  Cant wait to spend some quality time with Jim, Ramona and Lucas!

Day 140 - Welcome baby Mason

Today we headed into Calgary for Chris and Carmen's baby shower.  We can't wait to have a nephew and for Harrison to have another Mason to play with!

Once in Calgary, we stopped in to visit with Aunt Flo and Uncle Gord.  The Christmas morning wife saver was delicious :) and the visit was great.

After our short visit with Flo and Gord we headed for the baby shower.  Harrison was completely overwhelmed by all the people, babies and presents.  After the shock wore off, he had a great time!

Chris and Carmen opening presents.  Harrison overwhelmed.

The girls let him have a bow to chew on.

Day 139 - The many faces of Harrison

Slow day today, just cleaning up after all the company and packing for a week out in Alberta.

With all the cleaning and packing going on, Harrison found the pots under the cupboard.  We thought it would be fun for him to wear them as hats... we can't quite tell if he enjoyed it or not :).

Day 138 - Fernilicious

Today we ventured into Fernie to show Geoff, Natalie and Owen around.

The day started with a Big Bang bagel and latte.  After lunch we made it down 2nd ave for some shopping.  Found Harrison some really cool ear muffs for winter.  Finally, we headed to Annex park with the dogs to enjoy the scenery.

Very nice visit, can't wait to head to Canmore in November to check out their home town!

Day 137 - To the clouds and back

Very overcast in Elkford today so we decided to hike up the ski hill into the clouds.  Harrison is getting very heavy, so the hike up isn't as much fun anymore...

After we all managed to get to the top, we rested shortly before some pics and heading back down the mountain.

Once back down Geoff and I headed out for some frolf.  Despite all his fancy discs, we still managed to enjoy the course.

Harrison and Owen... getting along much better.  (aka - Harrison isn't hitting as Owen as much)

Day 136 - Play date

The Pyke's made it out to Elkford for a few days.  Harrison and Owen had not seen each other in quite a while. It was very interesting to see them interact now that they knew how to play.

Harrison was quite the little bully.  Poking at Owen, waving his arms wildly (regardless of what he hit), using him as a ladder and just plain out tormenting him.

He would get a very excited look in his eye and head straight for Owen...  it often didn't work out well.  By then end of the night they were only happy when Owen was up on the couch just out of Harrison's reach.

Day 135 - Free Golf!

The Elkford golf course closed on Monday.   They left all the tee boxes out and flags in....  So we headed out for a free round of golf.  It was even quieter than usual, however it was very nice to just walk out and play.  Harrison loved being able to tag along.  The greens (without elk and deer poop) were perfect for Harrison to crawl on.  By the end of the day he even knew where the ball needed to go.

Day 134 - Trucks, trucks, trucks

Harrison is officially a boy's boy.  He got another dump truck from grandma and grandpa and would not leave its side.

Harrison spent the day wrecking every pile of blocks grandpa could put together.  The rest of us enjoyed relaxing working off yesterday's turkey :).

Day 133 - Happy Thanksgiving

The big day finally here.  We were excited to share Thanksgiving with everyone out in Elkford.

Some of us headed out for a round of golf while Harrison got to dress up in a family heirloom for fall pictures.  As soon as he had on his new sweater he turned into a chubby little elf... made him look so big, but still cute.

Supper was delicious, the pies were great, company couldn't have been better and the crokinole tournament was a hit!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
