Day 119 - Kool Central

Nice relaxing day today before we hit the road tomorrow.  We ate way too much and Harrison enjoyed playing around the house.

To end the night we headed over to the new store Kool Central...  Harrison can't wait to be old enough to enjoy the ice cream, frozen yogurt and toppings bar!  In the meantime we will make sure to eat enough until he can!

Day 118 - Santa Fe

After a long stressful day yesterday Harrison enjoyed giggling all day long... When he wasn't giggling he was falling asleep in grandma's arms.  (Grandma didn't mind :)

Before heading out for supper, cribbage and Kaiser with Steph and Rick we decided to test drive a few more vehicles.  (To replace Emily's truck that was written off a couple months ago)  By the end of the day we managed to have a brand new Santa Fe in the driveway.... So much for the budget!

Day 117 - Heartbreaker

Today this little gaffer broke everyones heart...

Harrison screamed and cried for about an hour today.  No one knew what was wrong.  The car was ready to go, everyone's nerves shot and ready for the emergency room... Turns out it was just a case of really bad chaffing!  A couple hours without a diaper on and A LOT of diaper cream = problem solved.  Thankfully Harrison was back to his busy, smiling, ways by supper time :).

Day 116 - Park assist?

Today we headed into Saskatoon to take a look for a new vehicle.  While test driving vehicles we tried out "park assist" in one on the vehicles.  The scariest thing we have done in quite a while... no way we will do that again and definitely not going to pay money for it!

After trying out some vehicles we took a bit of time to enjoy some sun on the deck.  Harrison, who is now a big fan of stairs, loves the backyard!

The day was capped off with a visit to the Buettner house for supper.  Harrison was speechless (and sat still) for the first time in a long time as he watched Annika move around the house.  So many toys!  So much fun!

Day 115 - Can't wait to get to the deck

Packing day today.  Not much to write about.  Harrison spent the day on the deck unpacking every box he could find.

While packing continued we managed to get down to the lake.  Very nice view looking out over the lake.  After packing was complete we all headed back to Warman for beer on the deck... highlight of the day.

Day 114 - Skunked!

Uncle Ron and Aunt Sheila made it out to the lake today for a visit.  After plenty of time relaxing on the deck (see below) we made it out on to the lake.  5 hours of fishing and we only managed to catch 6 or 7 pike and 1 whitefish.  Nothing worth cleaning.  Good thing mom knew how good fishing was on Candle and took out steak earlier for supper.  Eventually we made it back for a late supper.  Everyone exhausted, some of us from sitting all day fishing, Aunty and Grandma from taking care of Harrison all day.  He is a handful!  Hard to believe looking at the pictures below... but yes, it's true :).

Day 113 - Full moon sighting

Harrison was starting to get a little too comfortable at grandma and grandpa's house so we decided to head to the lake.  At Candle Lake we will be relaxing, doing some fishing, enjoying the fall colours and eventually closing up the trailer for Winter.  Forecast looks great and so does the view of the moon!

Day 112 - Saskatoon River-walk

After blueberry pancakes we made it down to the South Saskatchewan river for a walk.  (Harrison loved the pancakes!)  Couldn't ask for much better day between the leaves changing colour, the sunshine, the water, the bridges, the farmers market and the view.  The only thing that would make this a better Saskatchewan day would be a Rider win...  after all Harrison was wearing his new Rider shirt.  (For those that don't live in Saskatchewan - the Riders played today and won :)

Day 111 - Long gone to Saskatchewan

Big road trip today all the way to Grandma and Grandpa M's in Saskatchewan.... Very long trip. The highlight of the trip, other than getting here, was stopping for Tim Hortons in Rosetown.  It was all downhill from here.  After all the fun Harrison had in Rosetown he was determined to not be happy in the car seat anymore!  Thankfully we made it.  No more car seat for at least a day or two...

Harrison having a snack and finally getting to sit in the front of the truck.

He loves to drive!

Day 110 - What is that?

Emily and I were jogging along, with Harrison in the Chariot, minding our own business when this young boy ran across the road to us.  "What is that" he yelled, pointing at the Chariot.  "A baby" we answered.  Quite strange how quickly he came running and how interested he was.... I think it's time for these kids in BC to go to school!

Today we headed back down to the river for some relaxing (fishing and reading) near a place we call the "dried up river bed".  The sun was shining and there was a slight breeze.  Perfect weather for a fire!

The view was fantastic in both directions....

Both of us enjoyed a bit of fishing.  Found a nice little fishing hole and one really large cutty!  (Local slang for cutthroat trout)

No day is ever complete without a piggy back ride and pulling mom's hair...

Good times had by all!

Day 109 - Catch me if you can

Headed out for another round of frolf today.  Brought Vinnie along.... big mistake.  The whole time; two steps forward, one step back.  At least Vinnie had a great time playing fetch with the frisbees.  (Or discs as official frolfers call them)

Harrison has become especially interested in Vinnie's leash lately.  Loves to play with it anytime its out....

Got us thinking about a great way to let Harrison cool off some steam. (He has been especially agitated these days since teething has now hit month 6 and still now teeth!)

Click here to check out Harrison's new favourite game!  Isn't Vinnie cruel!

Day 108 - VolleyFall practice

Prison Break marathon last night.  Morning came way too fast.

More free fun today! Volunteering and crawling in the park! We headed to Fernie today so I could help out with a local volleyball practice. Good to be back in the gym! Meanwhile, Emily and Harrison enjoyed the warm weather and changing leaves around Fernie. No leaves were eaten (although several attempts were made). It's nice to have the chance to get to know Fernie better.

Day 107 - Emily's gone fishing

Today Emily chose to go fishing...  Vinnie got to play in the river, Harrison got to watch dad fish, dad got to fish and Emily got to read a book.  Good times had by all!

First day of Harrison's swim lessons today.  A bunch of singing and splashing.  Harrison loved it.  The best part is that he napped for 2.5 hours when he got home.

Colours are starting to show up on the mountainside.  Fall is getting close and the trees are starting to turn.  Hopefully fall sticks around for while, cause it sure looks nice!

Day 106 - A day in the park

After a nice slow morning we headed on our bikes to downtown for some tennis and fun in the park.  The tennis was intense, but quickly lost its appeal once Harrison work up.  After he woke up we headed for the park.  So much fun!  See the pictures for all the fun Harrison got up to.  After we got back to the condo we made ravioli from scratch.  Not easy, but we lived to tell about it.  Still not sure if it was worth it.  Big swimming lesson tomorrow, cant wait!

It was very bright out, we tried sunglasses, Harrison didn't like them for long.

First was the teeter totter.  Harrison did not know what to think of it.  His expression didn't change once.

Second was a diaper changing.  Also exciting in the park.

The swing was way too big.  But we managed.

Took a while to get used to it, but had lots of fun.

Next we all went for a ride on the slide.

Also fun.

All the fun was a bit too much for him.  A bottle at 6:30 led to bed time.  He was exhausted :).

Day 105 - When in Rome

Every where we go this weekend, the river is full of people fly fishing.  So as they say, when in Rome.  We found a very nice spot where Lizard Creek meets up with the Elk River just west of Fernie.  Fishing and relaxing by the river.  A great way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon!
