Day 124 - Bow Valley

Today we took out the truck for a drive behind the mountain ranges in view from Fernie.  It all started with a gravel road east of Fernie that led up over a mountain, down to Sulpher Creek, along the Bull River then out at Jaffray.  The mountains, lakes, creeks, rivers and fall colours made for a long but fabulous drive!

At the top of Hartley Pass we came across Hartley Lake.  It was freezing up on top of the mountain!

After Hartley Pass we came across the entrance to Heiko's Trail.  (A 12 hour hike!)  We were pleasantly surprised to see the Three Sisters mountain range as a backdrop for the trails entrance.

At the very end of Sulphur Creek, we came across a Sulphur deposit in the water.  The area was protected as an "animal lick".

A view of the Bull River at the beginning of the valley.

We found a nice spot on the Bull to have some lunch, do a bit of fishing and let Harrison do some rock crawling.

At the end of the drive the colours throughout the valley were amazing!
