Day 71 - Elk River Guiding Co

Emily walked around the corner, Harrison started screaming with joy.  I poked my head around the other corner, he continued screaming.  At least 20 seconds of screaming.  No better sound in the world :).

Today was the longest Emily and I have ever been away from Harrison as we were out on a fishing trip.  Harrison had a great day with Lucas and the Grandparents while we were gone.  Our welcome home was nothing short of spectacular!  On the way home we wondered if he missed us.  We were very excited that he did.

The big day finally came.  Our guided "learn to fly fish" trip that Emily had bought as a Christmas present for me.  Donna from the Elk River Guiding Co. took us out for a day on the river to learn the ins and outs of fly fishing.  By the end of the very hot day, we had caught a couple of fish and have a much better understanding of fly fishing.  Cant wait to try out our skills up here in Elkford.  Pardon the quality of the pictures.  The camera got too hot and wouldn't work, so we settled for the iPhone.

Here is where we fished on the Elk River right off the road in Fernie.  Lots of people out enjoying the sun and the drift.

The river was very refreshing in the 30+ temperatures.

We found this fly on my hat when we got home.  Thought I had lost the fly... thankfully my hat caught it.  Still need a bit of work on the cast.

Great end to the day with crokinole and root beer floats with Lucas.
